It’s a happening! As the Nation shifts to GREENer products, the adult sex market is rolling in the sheets of change! Good change, responsible change and welcomed change in the arena of Sexual Health. The topic of green, eco-friendly products somehow makes the discussion of sex ‘safer’. Babeland was interviewed for this TIME article and has been a leader in eco friendly intimate products, including RFSU vegan condoms. The original printing showcased several images of Green sexual products including the Mamba condom from Sweden.

My company is the American importer of RFSU vegan condoms from Sweden. What makes them vegan is the lack of casein, a dairy derivative with elasticity properties that is less expensive than latex. RFSU condoms are pure latex.
I attend the adult market trade shows and I was pleased to see several vendors offering whole sections of organic lubes, non leather crops, whips and handcuffs, vegan condoms and eco-friendly personal massagers at the show in April. Sex is not exempt from being earth and body friendly, and the trend is growing quickly. As we pay more attention to the products we use in/on our bodies, we are becoming more analytical of the ingredients and places of origin.
Sexually active people are now asking questions about the intimate products they currently use or are about to purchase. “What ingredients are in this Lube?”, “What country made this product?”, “What ingredients could be harmful or cause irritation?” “Does it smell bad?”
HOORAY I say! First, the sexual health dialogue opens up; second, customers are realizing intimate personal products do have an impact on their bodies and the earth. I would like to think we are emerging from the haze of ignorance regarding our personal, sexual health. Sex is a biological function to be responsibly enjoyed; why do we cover our ears and sing lalalalalala when the topic comes up in conversation. Why are we embarrassed to ask questions about our sexual selves? When we go shopping for a washing machine, we ask all sorts of questions and spend plenty of time making that purchase.
Why aren’t we comfortable asking questions about our bodies in regards to sexual health, sexual pleasure, sexual discomfort, and sexual dysfunction or any other sexual question in the Tote of Love? You know, that suitcase we all lug around chucked full of our sexual baggage? It is time to unpack all the misinformation from our early years and replace it with correct answers to our sexual questions today!
Ignorance is not a strategy for Sexual Well Being…..
